At last month’s much anticipated Latimer Talks, we excitingly welcomed to the stage ITV’s commissioning editor Priya Singh. Hosted at The Camden Collective, the space was positively alive with young raw talent ready to get their foot inside the industry’s door.
This advantageous event and overall energetic night gave young people interested in all types of media and film careers the chance to hear from Priya herself, an inspiring and successful television industry professional.
Aside from sharing her role as Daytime and Factual commissioner at ITV, Singh also gave insight on her personal life and experiences that ultimately helped shape and steer her career. Part of her role at ITV is to tell the stories of our time in an intelligent and accessible way, connecting viewers with people, issues, and places they would not ordinary come across. This was interesting insight for all of our aspiring documentary film makers, producers, actors and actresses present at the event. To these individuals Priya especially voiced, ‘“You are our eyes,” so continue to creatively capture the passion and authenticity of the human experience.
In addition to hearing about Priya’s experiences, those in attendance had the opportunity to ask questions, share their own ideas, and most importantly meet, mingle, and network with an entire room full of ambitious, like-minded people.
